I just recently bought a Saegate 1TB hard drive and backed up all my important stuff on it, was using Windows 7 at the time. After upgrading to Windows 10 my pc is not detecting the drive, it shows at lower right corner that i've plugged it in, it shows in device manager, and disc management. Tried to assign a new path and letter but the options are grayed out and not able to do that either.
So i'm stuck with this brand new hard drive with all my important data with no options of retrieving, formatting or accessing it. Been scouring the internet and forums for a possible solution but to no avail. Does anyone have a viable fix for this because it's very frustrating. Ok i have tried all suggestions but unfortunately i didn't fix anything, i actually found out my built in webcam isn't working now either:( 1) Ran troubleshooter>Hardware and Devices it didn't mention anything about my external drive it just said you webcam doesn't have a driver and it is checked as 'Not fixed' 2) Tried updating the drivers for both the external HDD and the camera it gave me: - For the HDD: 'Windows has determined that the driver software for your device is up to date'.
