Jul 14, 2014 Where is the profile picture saved to? Discussion in 'Mac OS X Lion (10.7)' started by whohasaquestion. I can verify that 10.7.2 works much the same way. IChat can show recent pictures too. I simply lost the original file, at least i am willing to believe now. I currently am using gmail for my mac but would like to use outlook 2016. IPad, and Mac platforms. Advertise on MacRumors.
Hi Jessen: Thanks for your reply. In response, here are my answers: 1. I can change then name from the 'default.png' to whatever I want, but can only choose the png or bmp format whereas before, it would save it as what it was named on the webpage I was saving it from for example, and nearly always as a jpeg. No hardware changes, though I have a sneaking suspicion this occurred after an IE9 security update fix in the middle of June. I tried the steps in the article in the link you provided - including the little MS fix it tool.No dice. Peculiar problem, and rather irritating.
Maybe my IE9 installation is corrupted.( I didn't install anytime recently) THanks for your time.
Thanks for the replies. This problem still perplexes me.
I have a vague memory of this happening several years ago and I believe I associated it with there not being enough hard disk space.at the time anyway. When I originally posted this question, I was low on disk space but I'm back to normal. I also recall that (maybe) i did have to do a system restore. That seems like a ridiculous solution, especial considering that it must be 10 years since that original occurrence. I would think that if there was some aspect of the OS being corrupted that appears to only affect this function, that there must be some more straightforward and simple solution. Disappointing that there is no solution coming from MS.
