Fan Control For Mac Mini

суббота 29 сентября admin 21

Hi I upgraded the RAM in my mini yesterday to 2Gb, in the process managed to pull one of the wires that got into the clip for the fan control and now the fan is running at constant high speed. The clip goes back into the mother board ok and one of the wires is still connected properly.

My questions are - is this an easy repair? Can the wire be soldered back into the clip and is this something that I will need to take to an approved repair center to get fixed? Has anyone else had this repaired by Apple and roughly what did it cost you. The moral of this tale is to watch the tutorial video / read the words a little more closely in future!! Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

Apple TV 4K has a fan and a vent at the bottom. Airport Extreme and Airport Time Capsule have fans and vents at the bottom. IMac has vents along the bottom edge and on the back. IMac Pro has vents along the bottom edge and on the back. Mac mini has vents at the bottom to bring in cool air from beneath the device and vent hot air from the back. Question: Q: Mac mini fan noise. I've noticed over the past week that my Mac mini's fan has become louder and more noticable. Restore powerpoint file saved over. Using Safari to browse the Internet, listen to iTunes, watch a DVD or watch an avi in Quicktime, basically doing anything on my Mac mini makes the fan whirr up to a noisy level (compaired to the silence that.

I have the exact same problem (noisy mac mini, in fact I'm wearing hearing protection right now because of the noise) after a forced hdd switch (old one died after just 2 years and unfortunately I don't have Apple Care). The thing is. Just the little plastic connector* on the end of the cord broke on my mini, the socket on the MB and the two wires are intact. Does anyone know what those plastic two-pin connectors are called? I was thinking of trying to get one at ELFA since I live in Sweden. *The way I see it there are two wires that snap into place in a plastic connector, then you insert the connector into a 'socket' on the MB. The socket has two pins that connect to the wires respectively and this in turn allows the fan speed control to function.

My excuse for missing removing the connector during the hdd change is lack of concentration due to thinking all copies of my thesis had fried. (Fortunately I had backup ).
