I believe I read that they add the time to your existing subscription. I just bought a 2 year version for 2018 Deluxe for $50 on Amazon last week. I guess this would have been a little cheaper. That's what I get for not waiting, although the 2 year package was from a seller, so without sales tax it's basically a wash and this way I have 2 years. I have a different situation, I have Premier and need to downgrade.
