I can always move it, just let me know. I've been using my 1tb WD Passport with my old laptop with no problems. I installed that WD software there to do the automatic syncing.

But I've recently got a Surface RT. The Windows Explorer can detect it but it's saying that it has no free space even though it still has about 650gb of free space and all my files are not there. The WD App does not recognize it at all. I know that the WD software can not run in RT. But what about my extra space? I just want to access it. Maybe I can connect my Passport to my old laptop and disable whatever software or utilities it has?

But I don't know what I should disable. Worse come to worse, I'm willing to reformat this drive in RT but I'm hoping that it won't come to that or that if it will even work. Any help would be great.

Hi, I have My Passport external hard drive 4tb, splitted by 2tb for Windows and 2tb for Mac. I started syncing dropbox folder into that and its stucked on 60/70% says like not enough space, clean the space and try again. By checking the free space its shows like more than 1tb is still available, what makes me confused is that by checking the total space taken by dropbox so far is exactly 500gb, that might be the starting point to find the issue. Any thoughts? Issues with the dropbox or My Passport HDD? HDD somehow limiting the folders by 500gb?

I am not questioning the external drive I'm asking about the internal one where you've installed Dropbox. And, while we are on about the external ones. 1TB where though? You have two drives so it is possible one could be at 999gb and the other 1gb.
